Critter Doctor Animal Hospital in Kirkland

Serving Kirkland's Critters Since the 1980skirkland, wa veterinary hospital

Formerly Totem Lake Critter Doctor, Critter Doctor Animal Hospital started in the mid-1980s on 124th street in Kirkland. Dr Wendy Bernstein bought the clinic from the original owner in 1996 and operated a successful practice for years before realizing that she would need more room to expand the hospital's services.

After months and months of searching, Dr. Bernstein finally found a perfect new location: a free-standing building with plenty of parking and room to expand. She then built our brand-new Kirkland veterinary facility from the interior struts up and opened what is now our full-service veterinary hospital.

Caring for Kirkland's Pets and Their People

Critter Doctor's mission has always been to take care of pets and their people. Those of us of a certain age remember having our own personal physician, someone who didn't just treat us but called to see how we were doing and, yes, someone who even occasionally made house calls. Critter Doctor is for pets what physicians were for humans decades ago.

Your pet deserves a critical and thorough evaluation. Even more, they need an animal care team that will make the follow-up call if needed and a veterinarian who researches your pet's condition to make sure they're receiving the most up-to-date treatment. If a house call is necessary, you can count on our veterinarians to be at your door in no time. We do this because we understand and cherish the special role our four-legged friends play in our lives and feel a profound commitment to offer them the best veterinary care possible.

Dedicated to Being the Best for Kirkland's Critters

We built our new office to create a larger space where we could offer a greater variety of expanded veterinary services with plenty of on-site parking. Our goal going forward is to continue expanding our services by branching out into canine rehabilitation therapy, expanding our boarding facilities and pet playtime area, and updating our medical equipment to improve patient diagnostics and monitoring.

We will not, however, forget our roots: great care, clear communication with our clients, and individual patient follow-up, always. Our two “Best Kirkland Vet” awards (the latest in 2015) are a testament to our range of high-quality services and our outstanding animal care team.
